How can I get the button to not show up?
If I include the proximity field in my view, the button shows up.

You used "Proximity Form Field" instead of just "Proximity", is that intended?

I added a proximity field to the form display.
That is what I meant by 'proximity form field'

When adding proximity field, there should be two fields there. One Called just Proximity, the other Proximity Form Field.

Only the latter adds that button. So can you check, whether exchanging those fields helps your usecase?
