I've installed the module and it works fine only if I'm logged to the website. If I visit pages as a regular user, all the img images aren't visible.

The issue was caused by a missing dependency library: core/drupal

It's fixed in 1.x and 2.x branches. Latest 8.x-2.0-alpha1 also includes the fix.
