Isn't this already working for Drupal 8 sites? I don't believe I've ever had to set this manually.

I just ran across this and just wasn't sure.
I know the info says that I can set it up in the settings file.

I did not know if I needed to do this as an extra layer of protection.

No, you don't. It's done automatically. I've been provisioning a lot of D8 sites lately, and this stuff has always been automatically injected into settings.php.
