PT group has an empty board. Please let me in. I'm offering my efforts to give a push in the translations.
I personally think it's a pity that Portuguese is one the very few languages that has two variants (in the case, for Brazilian and Portuguese).
Wikipedia has a common version and it is 1000 times more verbose than any Drupal instance.
As discussed in this old post #783440, there are official efforts in Portuguese communities to get different flavors closer.
In one of the projects I'm currently involved we're deciding how to tackle the only language that needs a mapping (between "pt" used in any other outside component and "pt-pt" used in drupal). Having PT in good shape could make it the best option we have.

gábor hojtsyThe existing group leads should be able to give you access, no?

dxvargas commentedWhat I can see here is that the board is empty!
If you can point me someone or some way to achieve that, please just let me know.

avpadernoActually, the Board page is not supposed to give a list of users associated to that localization group, but a list of messages between the users of that group. In fact, on the board page for the Esperanto group I see the following. (I am manager of that group.)
What I find strange is that on https://localize.drupal.org/translate/languages/pt, I read:

avpadernoAs a matter of fact, International Portuguese is listed on Explore languages.

unknownterritory commenteddxvargas, thank you for your interest in this initiative. I welcome your interest in moving it forward as, after living abroad for more than a decade, I no longer feel like I should continue to lead it. I've increased your privileges to "translation community manager" and will happily step down as soon as the project starts showing some activity.
I've also answered your direct email a few days ago (please check your spam if you didn't get it). Thank you again.
