I recently updated views slideshow to version 7.x-3.9 on a dev site (I think this is what caused the issue). Shortly thereafter I noticed that the slideshow wasn't cycling through photos anymore.

I attempted to recreate the view, which worked until I tried to attach the "Views slideshow Xtra Overlay" attachment to the slideshow block. The overlay does not show up and the slideshow doesn't cycle. I can remove the attachment from the block and the slideshow works again. I can also confirm that the settings on the attachment are the same as what I have on my live site that is working before updates.

D7 reached its EOL back in January 2025, and there is no active release for D7 for this module anymore.
Development or support is not planned for D7. All D7-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.
