On the newest dev, the image formatter "Slick carousel" does not exist. Only Image and Colorbox is shown on my end.

This problem was already reported, and according to #2697019: "Slick carousel" option does not exist under Formatter this problem was due to a PHP7 feature request that was not yet implemented. However after committing #2637470: Support PHP 7, the problem should no longer exist.

However, the Views mode Slick Carousel does exist for multiple items to be made into a carousel.

Try to use DEVs for both modules. The patches were already in.
If you patched, likely you missed other fixes, that is why you still see no formatters. The formatters should be there when using DEVs for both.

I will see if i can manage to have a new release this year.
