It would be nice to integrate the FUpload Module (http://drupal.org/project/image_fupload) with this one, that would be a very nice alternative to the zip-upload =)

Hmm, yeah, that's true. But that module just integrates the swfupload project (http://code.google.com/p/swfupload/) into drupal (-> image).
You could add the swfupload code ;)

I don't know how much work that is, but since swfupload is given, it doesn't seem that much :)

But that would only be a nice-to-have-feature, the gallery module is already great. In fact, it's far the best gallery module for drupal.
