If I input and invalid quantity, like -10, and click on add to cart, I get the popup saying item was added successfully, when in fact it was not added, because the form did not pass validation.

It was an issue in early releases of this module. The issue was recently fixed here #2725419: Show Drupal Messages. I checked the module in a fresh installation and was unable to reproduce the bug. The error is supposed to look like this:

Are you sure you are using the latest stable release of the module. Can you tell me the exact steps, the module configs, etc. so that I can reproduce it.
