VDD should be updated from Ubuntu 14.04 to Ubuntu 16.04.

Here is a patch below to keep a track of the update.

  • his patch updates the box to xenial and also, updates php to 7.0 and mysql to 5.7. After some prelimnary testing I found that php, apache, mysql, adminer, xdebug, webgrind, and mailcatcher to be working.
  • Running on OSX

I will be updating with newer patches as I make more progress. In the meantime we need to verify:
1. php
2. apache
3. xdebug
4. xhprof
5. memcache
6. drupal 7 standard install
7. drupal 8 standard install

are all working.
