I cam across #2202293 and found a few issues with @dawehner D8 port of the project. I forked his github project and make the required fixes, available at https://github.com/roygoldman/menu_per_role.

I previously attempted to reach out to @fago to become a maintainer for the menu_per_role around July 20th, but have not heard back.

Additionally, @dawehner and @Grimreaper offered to main the project in 2202293 as well, and attempted to request ownership in #2773217.

I would like to commit to maintaining menu_per_role, as i use the module on a few projects.

Hello,

Thanks for your proposition. I can't grant other people permissions, I don't have the administer maintainers permission.

My plan is to:
- clean up the issue queue of issues on outdated version of Drupal (done)
- creating a Drupal 8 version to stop having all the forks on Github
- review issues in "needs review"
- clean the Drupal 8 version of coding standards
- publish a Drupal 8 alpha version to have more people using it
- clean the Drupal 7 version of coding standards
- publish a Drupal 7 alpha version to have more people using it
- clean the project page (started)

I never used the Drupal 7 version and I think I won't develop it. Only merging issues with patches or fixing fatal errors after a basic test before publishing the alpha version.

Marking as fixed. Please re-open if you still want to apply.

I would happily help co-maintain the project, if you would like the help. Major reason for applying was to get someone added to support the D8 version, going forward the two of you should be able to handle the maintainer (primarily committing and releases) portion of that. Let me know if you and @dawehner think the extra hands would help with that part, otherwise I will definitely assist via working on issues in the queue since i am pretty familiar with the work that port dawehner.
