We are using Panelizer, but when using the Quick Edit feature (Edit, Save, etc.); the spinner never resolves and the changes do not take affect. We can make changes using the back end method (on the content), but Quick Edit hangs. We have also tested this on a base Bootstrap theme and get the same issue. Please see screen shots attached for more clarity.

We found the root cause of this issue. We are using the Rename Admin Paths module which interferes with Drupal's ability to recognize Panelizer's required jquery.min library on the file paths. This is why we get the 404. After disabling Rename Admin Paths, the jquery.min library could be found and we no longer get 404.

Title: 404 - jquery.min not found » Rename Admin Paths breaks Panelizer's JS dependencies
Project: Panelizer (obsolete) » Rename Admin Paths
Version: 8.x-4.0 » 8.x-1.x-dev
Status: Needs work » Active
Issue tags: -404, -jQuery, -quick edit, -spinning

Lets move the issue over to the Rename Admin Paths issue queue so that maybe it can be adjusted to not break Panelizer? Of course if it turns out there's another way of resolving it via Panelizer directly I'd be happy to commit a fix.

Thanks for reporting!

I don't understand why jquery path turn in 404. It's the drupal core library and it's working good with rename admin paths.
I see in panels_ipe.js a hardcoded path using "admin" :
url: drupalSettings.path.baseUrl + 'admin/panelizer/panels_ipe/'...

What's happen if you change admin with you new admin path ?

This is not a bug of the "rename admin paths" module imo. Urls or paths should not be hardcoded. Use route names or instead render the paths by using the router and route names.

Project: Rename Admin Paths » Panelizer (obsolete)
Version: 8.x-1.x-dev » 8.x-4.x-dev

Looking at Panelizer's JS, in panels_ipe.js it includes the following:

            $.ajax({
              url: drupalSettings.path.baseUrl + 'admin/panelizer/panels_ipe/' + entity.entity_type_id + '/' + entity.entity_id + '/' + entity.view_mode + '/revert_to_default',
              data: {},
              type: 'POST'
            }).done(function (data) {

So that means that yes, it's Panelizer's fault the URLs are being broken.
