When I limit the number of elements that should be display in my view then still all elements are displayed in the form (using Entity Reference Views Select to display the result of my view in the form).

And additionally a "n.v." value is displayed in the form.

It could be fine to remove this "n.v." value without making the field a required field.
It could be fine to display the exakt number of values in the form (same as in view output), not all values.

Here's a patch for the number of elements. I'll go ahead and commit this to dev. This should fix that issue in both widgets. I'm not sure what you mean on the n.v., so maybe make that a separate issue and describe it or have some photos.
