In #2803875: Node form meta information should not come from a theme, we move things from the seven theme to the node form.
That made me wonder if we shouldn't actually make the concept of the meta details element more generic and move it to ContentEntityForm, maybe even with some of its content.
Two things complicate it a bit, one is access, the referenced issue now hardcodes the adminster nodes permission for making it visible. And if we add some things in there by default, then we might change how forms look, forms that might be exposed to end-users on existing sites.
One possible solution for that would be to add it with #access false, then subclasses can opt-in to that by setting the proper access. And in 9.x, we could consider switching to showing it by default?
Combined with #optional, we might also be able to control with with #access on its children.

smustgrave commentedThank you for creating this issue to improve Drupal.
We are working to decide if this task is still relevant to a currently supported version of Drupal. There hasn't been any discussion here for over 8 years which suggests that this has either been implemented or is no longer relevant. Your thoughts on this will allow a decision to be made.
Since we need more information to move forward with this issue, the status is now Postponed (maintainer needs more info). If we don't receive additional information to help with the issue, it may be closed after three months.
Thanks!
