jefuri commentedAgreed as stated in my comment #2529032: Upgrade To Drupal 8.

dqdThen, please remove the downlaodable releases from the project page and add more info about it, since this is confusing and time consuming for users to come here, and then there, to find out to better uninstall it again ...

dqd@jefuri: thanks. And your efforts are appreciated. Just to let you know.

jefuri commentedNo problem :D
Comment #7
dqdYou reverted it without a comment end of last year? Would you mind to elaborate on your decision? Greetings and Happy New Year.

jefuri commentedI'm not that well trained in communicating en documenting everything when it comes to drupal contribs. Sorry about any confusion.
The thing is dat the other contrib is not being ported. We are already on D9 and no real concrete effort is being made there.
Other thing is that this implementation is somewhat different in architecture, and follows a different strategy to manage it.
Me (and my colleagues) and the maintainer of the icon api module differ in that vision, so to support our projects better we decided to still continue this project.

jefuri commentedWe will not put any effort into a merge with the icon api project. They are of course welcome to take any code of ours into a d8/d9 version and therefor make this module unneeded perhaps. If so we will then see if we can and will offer an upgrade path to the icon api.
