When you first clone a node, the editor uses the user theme rather than the administration theme.

pwolanin commentedWhich cloning method are you using? This is certainly possible, since the form is presented in the /clone tab, not at the /add or /edit path

Anyway, this appears to have gone away. The path it generated was something like node/55/clone, and the admin theme was just ignoring it because, you know, it's not node/55/edit. But, someone else seems to have noticed this and quietly fixed it. I think we can consider this issue closed.
