When enabling location_www, you can configure the location field so that it accepts an url.
This url is never shown when the field data is rendered, because it is missing from the location.tpl.php template.

Made a typo in the label. Fixed with new patch.

Patch in #4 worked for me. And as is a template file then can simply copy the file over to your theme and make the patch there.
