Here comes an archive that contains all images in views/help/images and reduces them from 24bpp to 8bpp and also uses PNG compression level 9. This would reduces page load time and image file size from ~2.6MB to ~800KB in the package and make the views package ~3-4 times smaller.

Ha, I did a lossless version in http://drupal.org/node/281544.

Will make an attempt to beat yours. :P

837,130 bytes -> 783,310 bytes with a pngout run. Will see if adaptive has improvements over dithering size-wise...

535,169 bytes with adaptive instead of dithering, but the banding is horrendous and the adaptive selector keeps picking pink for the box backgrounds.

Frankly, the best way to get additional compression would be to take screenshots in a theme that doesn't have gradients all over the place. ;)

Here's your files run through pngout to shave off that additional 53.8k I mentioned. I think they look pretty good.

Based on BDragon's feedback.

(Though if anyone else wants to look at the images and weigh in, feel free.)

I've tried again myself twice with PNGOUT and got 784.371 bytes - not sure where you won this additional 1061 bytes... :-)

By trying /f0 on everything, most likely.

As I understand this case there are no outstanding issues. #3 is RTBC! What are we waiting for? :-)

Just me to get around to it. I promise this will go in prior to rc2
