I changed variable to config
this solution works for me

Thanks for pointing out the issue.

Looks like there were left over files from D7 module, just did a cleanup of all such instances and pushed it to 8.x-1.x.

We do not need to cleanup modules after uninstalling as Drupal itself doing it.
