If you try to revert a landing page, the page can become "locked" and unable to be edited, with the following error message:

The content has either been modified by another user, or you have already submitted modifications. As a result, your changes cannot be saved.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a new landing page in draft state.
  2. Use IPE to create and place a new basic block on the page.
  3. Immediately edit the block you just placed (using the IPE pencil icon) and change the title and body.
  4. Click "Save" in IPE.
  5. Click the "edit draft" tab, change the moderation state to "published", and save.
  6. Click the "revisions" tab, and revert the second-to-last revision.
  7. Click "edit draft" again and try to publish the draft that you just created. You'll receive the error message above, and the node is now "locked".

Note that this is very similar to #2727629: Panelized nodes sporadically become locked. It seems that there are multiple ways to reproduce this issue, and the patch in that issue only fixes one of them.

One workaround to break the lock is to save the page once using IPE. For instance, navigate to the "latest version" of a locked node, add a block using IPE, and click "save". Now the node is unlocked again.

Even with Panelizer beta 1 installed, I can still reproduce this problem, using the steps in the IS, on a clean installation of Lightning (sans Preview component). I'm moving this to their issue queue so we can get some big brains looking at it. I would be deeply surprised if this was necessarily do to anything Lightning was specifically doing, although it's possible that this is due to some sort of incompatibility between Panelizer and Workbench Moderation/Content Moderaiton.
