All the modules that come with subscription module and mail editor module are installed. When I
point to myurl/cron.php to trigger a test subscription to be sent out I get the following error. The subscribed user do not get notification email either.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function session_save_session() in /pathtomysite/sites/all/modules/subscriptions/subscriptions_mail.module on line 45

I also checked with 5.x-2.2 same problem exist.

This function was introduced by the Drupal core 5.2. If are running 5.0 or 5.1 then your site is severely insecure and you update immediately to the latest core release, http://drupal.org/drupal-5.7

If, on the other hand, you run 5.2 or newer then please reopen the issue.
