In the XML dump I manuallly replaced the <!--more--> by Drupal's own Break.
They got imported all right but did not work.
However, editing and saving a node reinstalled the teaser break functionality.
So I had to manually save all nodes once. This is doable but not quite necessary, imho :o)

WP 2.5.1, Drupal 5.7.
