I am wondering if there is a way to handle the theming of this differently? Perhaps instead of using the IMG tag use SPAN or DIV? Perhaps a selection of HTML tags that could be used? You can still set the image in SPAN or DIV without breaking anything.

If people think this would be a good idea I can hack out a patch.
