When I change the menu source, the menu does render but there are various UI issues. Please see screenshot - left side is alternate manu source, right side is the default management menu. You can see that the left side is missing many css classes, etc.

Its not only menu sources, New toolbar also does not appear properly.
I fixed it, will contribute a patch soon

I will also like to mention some little incompatibility with the navbar embed in Panopoly distribution 1.43 (http://www.drupal.org/project/panopoly) where most of the time i have to click twice or tree time to make work any link (Devel etc...) before the navbar appear.
Or is it the normal behave ?

i applied the patch which goes corectlty.
BUT would like to mentioned for people having lot of functionalities like me that a simple "All Cache Clear" may not help you see changes you may need also a Registry Rebuild(which make me see the changes after patching)
