cRaSh if single quotes is in file name

On the above link, we had to go in and delete any images with single quotes in the file-name. We then re-u/l the same file with the single quotes removed and all is well.
i.e. JT's Boat became JTs boat
I perused the issues and I did not find anyone mentioning this.
I don't want to abandon thickbox, what do i do? If any of our users u/l a photo with a single quote in the file name then thickbox will hang and hang looking for a truncated file name. thickbox will not read the filename past the 1st instance of a single quote.
I wonder what other common punctuation might hose it up?
