Here are the hacks that were done to drop.cwgordon.com in order to (hopefully) improve this module. This was against 1.0, so I'm not sure if any of these problems still exist in the dev release, but:

Tables didn't appear
Comments always inserted new revisions, even on incompatible types
Once you marked a node type as comment_cck, you can't remove it
