Hi there,
I updated CKEditor from 7.16 to 7.17. This give loading problems:
- the text field with the editor was empty (while originally there was text.
- Trying to select a different editor toolbar in 'Text format' did not work
- clicking 'Switch to plain text editor' showed the already present text with HTML.
- Switching back to rich text editor, showed the CKEditor toolbar without text.
- Trying to select a different editor toolbar in 'Text format' still did not work.
Once I reinstalled version 7.16 everything worked fine again.
I hope this info proves to be useful. :)
Best wishes for 2016, Jippie.

kreatil commentedI had the same issue. During the update process all files inside sites/all/modules/contrib/ckeditor/ckeditor had been deleted.
This worked for me:
I downloaded the latest release of ckeditor from http://ckeditor.com/ and placed inside that folder.

choy commentedI have the same problem after update via drush up ckeditor
- in my case the solution of kreatIL disn't worked
My solution I deleted then the module ckeditor and uloaded it than again manually - this worked
However It seems there is a bug with in the update to 7.17

niek_kloots commentedI had the same problems.
Put 7.16 back but .../admin/modules still reports I have version 7.17?

NeuQuest commentedI had the same issue and found that updating 7.16 to 7.17 deleted the "media" folder in the "plugins" folder so I copied the folder back and it now works.

mograph commentedI have updated to ckeditor 7.17 from 7.16. The editor is working but when running the modules report it states that it still at 7.16. I have checked the info files in /sites/all/modules/ckeditor and the info file show that is 7.17. I have tried reloading but it has no effect. updating the backup server went without a hitch.
Any help would be appreciated.

jcisio commentedSo we have 5 comments saying about 4 different bugs... I've updated the release note to emphasize the Media integration removal. All other bugs, please clear cache and try again.

niek_kloots commentedI deleted the entire module from the module list and out of the database then I reinstalled version 1.7 again.
Now it's in the list with the proper version 1.7
