It would be very handy to be able to select multiple terms in the Parent Term ID setting ("Only show items underneath the taxonomy term with these ID numbers"). I'll attach a patch. This patch incorporates the patch in #1774112: Show parent when using parent_term_id to show a subtree, since it seems to make sense to always show the parent terms if multiple are selected and that patch doesn't seem to apply cleanly to the current stable version.
