When using the custom search block, the block itself will forget the search term after it is entered. This is confusing to user's as this is passed onto the search module but the block itself blanks out the search term.

To Reproduce:
1. Create a custom search block and align the block to a specific URL. We use a wildcard under a URL path (i.e. /portal/voting/*)
2. Navigate to the URL and enter in a search term.
3. The URL will redirect to the section in (i.e. /portal/voting/search/microsoft)
4. The search block will be missing the search term.

D7 reached its EOL back in January 2025, and there is no active release for D7 for this module anymore.
Development or support is not planned for D7. All D7-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.

If the issue remains relevant for D10+ versions, merge requests with proposed solutions for a new module version (D10+) are welcome in a new follow-up issue.
