Currently, every content type has the 'Send subscriptions notifications' checkbox on each node/add form, regardless if the content type is used for subscriptions.
I would suggest to check if the content type is 'subscribable' when adding the form element. Patch follows.

Thank you for your post and patch, but no, this would remove useful functionality.

Subscriptions has the "Subscribe to all content types" permission which allows subscribing to content types that are blocked for normal users. The "Send subscriptions notifications" checkbox has its place on blocked content types in that context.
