The Twig library in Drupal 8 was updated to 1.22 in #2568171: Upgrade to Twig 1.22 and implement our own cache class, and is already planned for 1.22.2 in #2571817: Remove race condition handling in TwigEnvironment::loadTemplate(), it's fixed upstream now.
