I have a taxonomy where I would like to force the user to only select a term from the lowest level using Chosen. I would still like the terms to appear organized in groups for usability purposes, but not allow those top level groups to be selectable. Is this possible with this module?

You can try Taxonomy container module together with Chosen.

I have one level parent-child relationship. It works, and it's nicely designed too.

Maybe it works with multi-leveled parent-child relationship as well - I didn't try that though.
