Just an FYI to those creating a new content type to display on the widget.
If all the relationships that the the widget is expecting are not in the view you create, you will get this notice:

Notice: Undefined index: table in view->fix_missing_relationships() (line 617

when viewing the browsing widget.

The easiest way to overcome this is to create the view you use by exporting or cloning one of the existing browsing widget views and changing the filter to your new content. Also change the node partial form type in the Header section to your content type.
