zcrow commentedNothing???
phandolin commentedI am having this same issue, trying to troubleshoot.
zcrow commentedNot sure how conclusive this is but in my attempt to circumnavigate the issue, I moved a copy of the client's website to our server and the problem disappeared. We have had quite a few other strange issues with this site over the months so it could be a hosting issue. Might be worth seeing if the problem exists if you try running a copy somewhere else.

phandolin commentedThanks! I'll try that today and report back. It's odd it just started happening out of nowhere a few days ago.
phandolin commentedWow, that seems extremely odd, but after moving the site and database to another host the issue has gone away. Thanks for the suggestion!
zcrow commentedThat is really interesting but doesn't help me understand it or prevent it in the future. Must be a server configuration that some companies use. The one my client uses has had a number of other issues as well, not just this particular one.
Glad the suggestion helped.

DRIVE commentedBeen using Views for years. Today, the Sort button tosses this Ajax error when I try to add new sort criteria. All caching is off, using jQuery 1.7 (though 1.8 was working fine, I dropped it down when the error cropped up).
Everything else in Views works normally. There is no debug info which shows any errors in console or other more specific selections like JS/debugger, header-info, etc. I have quite a number of views and the Sort on all of them does the same thing.
The requested URL is valid and uses the exact same structure for the path as all other view buttons for adding fields, adding filters, etc... those all work fine.
I cannot find any debug info ANYWHERE that would point to a place to start debugging :)
Finally, all of my views work, no unusual errors etc.... just can't add sort criteria to any View.

DRIVE commentedFound the answer... in the above posts actually (zcrow) :)
If your server is not runnning PHP5.4.x the Sort mechanism, and probably others not discovered yet, will not work.
So... moving to BETTER HOST as well! At this date, any host running PHP5.3.x is CRAPPY.

renatog commentedYeah, really makes sense. @nikhilkorde you can try the #8 because
I've tested here in two different web hosts (Acquia and platform.sh) and it worked as well
Thank you so much @drive
