Stage File Proxy does not support subfolders within your Drupal user files directory. Any images or other files within subfolders will not be displayed correctly

Is this true? Will this module not load files from subfolders? (i.e. sites/default/files/myfolder1/foobar.jpg).

If true, any ETA or plans to support subfolders? Many Drupal modules (like ctools) create subfolders within the files directory so this feature seems pretty useful.

I can't read that document, so hard to get the context.

I think that subfolders do work now, especially after #2159705: Not checking files directory recursively before save.

Seems like this is "fixed" in terms of being a support request. If you try the latest dev and they still don't work, please reopen this issue as a bug.
