Technical Details
Drupal Version: 7.36
plupload 7.x-1.7
File Field Sources 7.x-1.9
FileField Sources Plupload 7.x-1.1

When I use plupload a image file to database, error message is "File %file (%realpath) could not be copied because it does not exist.". I changed drupal core to 7.35, then everything is ok. I don't know what exactly reason, but I found some clues when I use watchdog to print variable.

I put a few watchdogs in filefield_sources_plupload.module line 147

Drupal version 7.36

when click start upload
plupload debug temp_destination = temporary://2841_564085_567811.jpg wxadmin
plupload debug source = temporary://p19jgpe0pop121ceo1n69iton1s4.tmp wxadmin
plupload debug temp_filepath = temporary://2841_564085_567811.jpg wxadmin
then click save button in node
plupload debug temp_destination = temporary://2841_564085_567811.jpg wxadmin
plupload debug source = temporary://p19jgpe0pop121ceo1n69iton1s4.tmp wxadmin
plupload debug temp_filepath =

Drupal version 7.35

when click start upload
plupload debug temp_destination = temporary://2841_564085_567811.jpg wxadmin
plupload debug source = temporary://p19jgpe0pop121ceo1n69iton1s4.tmp wxadmin
plupload debug temp_filepath = temporary://2841_564085_567811.jpg wxadmin
then click save button in node
submit ok, no watchdog information.

I guess something different in drupal, because I used same version plupload. But 7.36 call twice function filefield_sources_plupload_element_value,
the temp_filepath return null when it called second time.

Anyone can explain to me? Thanks a lot.

I'm seeing the same problem when changing Drupal versions and can see same double function call. Have you resolved this? If not I'll have a go.

Hi I get the same error trying to upload a file using plupload widget.

plupload File temporary://p19v5pb08g162m1otf1bkf1qs7dm14.tmp (/tmp/p19v5pb08g162m1otf1bkf1qs7dm14.tmp) could not be copied because it does not exist.

After some testing, I realised the error appears when I have the following configuration:
- Imagefield (probably happends the same with filefield)
- Number of values set to 1 value
- File sources: using Advanced upload widget (Plupload)

If the Number of values is greater than 1 it works good. No message appears.
If the File sources uses Upload (default) it works good as well.

+1 this drove me crazy trying to figure out. this is a pretty lame workaround.

and can confirm that yes, it is broken with File field types too.

I tried to adopt the patch in #2564597 but it doesn't seem to fix this issue from what I could tell.

I'm also seeing the same problems as espurnes when "Number of values" for a field is set to 1. It seems like #2564597 is fixing a different problem than this one.

Ack

We're having this problem too and the work around will create issues with our users uploading videos to a student contest.
Drupal 7.41
Plupload 7.x-1.7
filefield_sources_plupload 7.x-1.1+0dev
filefield_soures 7.x-1.10

any other workaround? I'd use another upload widget but havent found a drag and drop progress bar widget that supports video_upload

@Ack: have you tried drupal https://www.drupal.org/project/file_resup?

@Chipie

Thanks for the reply. I have tried the file resup module and it works great for photos and others, better than plupload. However it doesnt work for the video module video upload. it's not an offered file source. :(

I was in the situation described in #3.

The error message did not appeared after pushing first time "Start upload". By doing this, the button was stuck in "Uploading..." value. Only then, if I pushed the button, then I had the message, so I suppose the message was a consequence of a previous error resulting in a corrupted state.
The error message also appeared when saving.

I fixed this with the patch #1 in 2466505.
