In Bootstrap variables.less You can change number of columns. Default is
@grid-columns: 12;

In my theme I need 15 columns. It would be nice if You could add some layout settings, so I could use different size of column (like col-sm-14 or even col-sm-100).

This seems like a bad idea to me - after all, Bootstrap only support 12 columns by default?

To support more columns, as you say, would require a custom compiled Bootstrap version - how might the module be configured to allow management of these additional (or potentially fewer) columns?

Yes, I'm using Bootstrap sources and less module to compile it in to CSS so I don't need to change number of columns in variables.less by module, because I'm doing it by myself.

I need some text field in panel settings in order to set number of columns in my panel (for example - 14) so I may use col-md-14.

I think the best way to implement it is to create an administration page to configure the module. You could have a select list to globally choose the number of columns you have in your template.

Then, based on that variable, you could display the correct number of classes when you create your flexible layout.

Bootstrap Panels should now support a different grid count. We are now storing the grid count in a variable.

I am not going to support changing this through an interface as it may cause too much confusion initially. What you have to do is make sure the /sites/all/libraries/bootstrap/css/bootstrap.min.css has been compiled with the new grid size most likely approach is to use SASS/LESS to compile.

Then set the variable to something different. You could set it in settings.php or somewhere else.
