Touch icons was close to providing the functionality that needed, however had the need for more control over adding icons, specifying multiple sized versions of the icon. For example, just see how many there is just covering iPhone (https://mathiasbynens.be/notes/touch-icons) . Then you have things like Opera Speed Dial, Android, etc. Providing settings for width/height future proofs being able to add the required icons. So with that in mind I created https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/grom358/2370731

Wondering how can merge our efforts for a comprehensive icon solution for Drupal.

Thanks for reaching out grom358, and contributing your sandbox project!

I have become a rather slack maintainer on this particular project. It was my first contrib module, and since then my interests and time have been diverted elsewhere (mostly into field API and a real job). I've had plenty of ideas about about supporting the growing range of icons, but haven't ever got around to coding it.

But touch icons are still an exciting area/thing, and the module has a decent-sized user base.

So I'm marking touch_icons as seeking co-maintainers - perhaps you'd like to help with a new 7.x-2.x branch? If so, let's discuss in more detail via Skype (or similar).

I've seen your project application issue, and I'll comment there too.

For those looking for more flexibility (and since it appears this project might be abandoned), the "responsive favicons" module can do multiple sizes/devices.
