Backup fails with date & token module

This is a bit complicated.

I installed the date module ver 2.0rc (http://drupal.org/project/date) along with the token module ver 1.10 (http://drupal.org/project/token) and I get the following error when I try to run the Backup and Migrate. (http://drupal.org/project/backup_migrate)

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare date_token_list() (previously declared in /var/www/test/sites/all/modules/date/date/date.module:361) in /var/www/test/sites/all/modules/token/token_cck.inc on line 226

I upgraded the date module from 1.7 to 2.0. and completely removed the 1.7 version before installing 2.0

I know it suggests that something is wrong with the token module but the error goes away when I remove the date module. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

update: I installed the dev version of the token module ver 5.x-1.x-dev and the problem went away.
