znerol commentedMaybe. Please post some links to good reference material here, then I will take a look.

scotthooker commentedI don't mind writing the module. I think it should be based on the existing ESI module
http://nginx.org/en/docs/http/ngx_http_ssi_module.html - is a good guide from nginx
http://www.programering.com/a/MDO5YjMwATQ.html - offers a good idea of the differences between ESI and SSI
and the module description here is a good idea of the tag differences https://www.drupal.org/project/esi
Tag support
The ESI module supports three types of server/edge includes tags:
ESI: standard Edge-Side Include tags
SSI: Server-Side Include tags (typically used on nginx cache servers)
Remote SSI: An alternative SSI tag syntax, used by mod_publisher

znerol commentedGreat. Note that emitting the SSI tags is only one half the battle. It is at least as important that the results are cached somehow. Otherwise Authcache might even slow down a site instead of speeding it up, e.g., if Drupal is always bootstrapped multiple times per request. Do you think this is possible with proxy_cache? Do you have an idea whether this respects the
Varyresponse header?Comment #4
scotthooker commentedIndeed - looked into this further. Will work on a module :)
P.s. awesome module by the way.
