When doing a 'Quick edit' the 'loading' overlay message that appears when clicking to insert an image (and then cancelling), is being inserted into the source code.

Steps to recreate:

  1. Create a page eg. basic page, add some content and save
  2. Quick edit the body content
  3. Click the image icon, but don't add an image just click the cancel 'X'
  4. Hit save and you will now see the loading message has been inserted into body source

Environment:

  • Using a clean default local install of Drupal 8 beta1 (not tried it on Alpha or dev).
  • OSX Mavricks
  • Browser = Chrome: 37.0.2062.94 & Safari: 7.1
  • MySQL: 5.5.34
  • PHP: 5.4.26

I cannot reproduce this if I follows the steps to reproduce in the issue summary. Could you perhaps provide a screencast? Thanks!

Hi Wim,

Here is a screen cast. BTW I've now tested this on both my local environment as well as on a hosted one.

Screencast >>

EDIT: Just tried to watch the video via the browser popup and it looked massive. Don't know if it's just me but you might need to download it to watch.

Just checked this on D8 beta 2 and it's still an issue (see video in #3 for demo).

ROFL :D That is hilarious! :D And very worrisome :(

Closing this in favor of #2091855: CKEditor inserting 'Loading' indicator's HTML into HTML while using Quick Edit, which already is solving the more general problem. Because of this (excellent!) bug report, I've now bumped that to critical.

Please help review patches on that issue.
