This module just embed a video's screenshot in wysiwyg editors, it can't embed a video player.

This happens in a media field too, not only in a wysiwyg editor.

How is this module working for other people? I have tried different 7x versions and is the same result, even after uninstalling.

I am having the same issue.. Embedded video turns into image.
I am using Ubuntu 13.10 and Firefox 30.0
However if I try in Chromium it is working perfectly.

This is set against the last recommended release which is nearly one year old. Have you tried the last dev version? By this time Media/File entity/Media Youtube have evolved a lot and you might have to bite on it and use a dev.

With dthe last dev version (7.x-2.x-dev) i can see a video preview with a working video player but i'm unable to submit it. I opened a new issue for this: https://www.drupal.org/node/2349039
