I am trying to setup a simple recurring subscription using commerce_license (roles) and commerce_license_billing (hourly cycle).
I am using braintree payment gateway (with card-on-file support). I am using advancedqueue with cron (poor man's implementation).
After setting up everything, all seemed working well. The payment was made (sandbox), the role was given and the recurring task is triggered, but the payment is always failing with a hard decline. I even tried it with the card-on-file test gateway with the same result. Am I missing some configuration? Any info reg. this would help.

Thanks

I tried this in a fresh install and still the recurring payment is failing with a hard decline. I think I am missing some configuration. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My apologies. This was never an issue with 'commerce_liense_billing'
It was an issue with a card_on_file integration without a 'charge_callback'
Thanks

I'm having the same issue. I'm also using getting a hard decline with each recurring payment. The only difference is that I'm using authorize.net. What the 'charge_callback'? Are there any suggestions on what I need to do to get my CLB sandbox to do successful recurring payments with authorize.net and cardonfile?

For my case, I had to edit the Authorize.net payment method on this page admin/commerce/config/payment-methods. I had to edit the "Enable payment method: Authorize.Net AIM - Credit Card" action. At the bottom of that page I had to enable the "Enable Card on File functionality with this payment method using Authorize.Net CIM." option. After that each time a license is renewed then the Authorize.net payment method will succeed. Keep in mind that this will only work if the use has allowed you to store their credit card on file. Consider making cardonfile mandatory for your site on the cardonfile settings here: /admin/commerce/config/cardonfile

I'm currently trying to get this to work with Commerce Sage Pay Server method. After many many Hard Declines I have discovered that you have to edit the rule "Charge a recurring order". I have edited the rule and in both of the actions have selected Sagepay Server but I'm still getting hard declines using their test card details. The first initial transaction goes through ok though. Has anyone had issues regarding Sagepay Server integration?
