jsacksick commentedI committed a slightly different patch that also adds the support for line item reference and customer profile reference fields.
dobe commentedThe line item reference fields still do not work.
I added a line item reference field to a product variation. Using a view that outputs Product variations. The problem is that with line items you can save products id's to the field. Which get stored as line item id's. So the $settings['columns'] and $setting['target_type'] seem to have to account for this. But maybe I am looking in the wrong place.
The outcome though is that I cannot add products as line items.

jsacksick commentedI just tried the widget with line items, and it worked, however, I'm not sure it's super useful...

jsacksick commentedCan you provide more information and steps to reproduce the issue?
dobe commentedThe use case is this: I am creating a "Package" Product that references multiple line items of already existing products. This allows for things like stock management and stuff to work properly.
1) Add a "Line item reference" field to the Product Variation.
2) Use the Entity Reference View Widget.
3) Create a view of Product variations for the selection. (you cannot create a view of Line items as no line items have been saved to the specific product yet). In addition since your using product id's for the view it has troubles saving since it is trying to save a "line_item_id" out of a "product_id" when one has not been created yet.
I looked in the module and there look's to be nothing in place to deal with this behavior. There are no field level settings on the "Line item reference" that allows for to select the "type" of line item. Which the default widget provides.
Hopefully this helps, let me know if you need further information.
