Issue: Task queue item(s) are not run
Steps to reproduce
1. Install Aegir 2.1 using the automatic install script at http://community.aegirproject.org/installing/debian
2. Add a new Platform at /node/add/platform using a makefile
3. Click on "Save" button. An item is added to the queues: "Verify: [PLATFORM-NAME-HERE]"
4. 30 minutes later that item in the task queue is not yet processed. Under "Queue" section clicking on "View" button returns the following message:
Submitted by *** on Sat, 07/12/2014 - 17:14
This task has not been processed yet: It will be processed around 18:02:49-0700, if the queue is not too crowded. The queue is currently run every 1 min, was last run 6 days ago and processes 5 items at a time. Server time is 18:02:41-0700.
Platform: ***
Expected result is the queue item should be process every 1 min per above message

francewhoaSteps to fix issue and suggested improvement
1. Install Aegir 2.1 using the automatic install script at http://community.aegirproject.org/installing/debian
2. Go to /admin/hosting/queues check "Task queue". Click on "Save changes" button. With default setting the item(s) in the queue will be process in roughly 1 min. Enable that feature fixed the issue.
But the "Task queue" feature is disable by default. This create confusion.
I suggest to activate "Task queue" by default during the automatic install script
If it's not appropriate to activate "Task queue" by default I suggest to clarify the message when user click on "View" button. As follow. New item is in bold.

shaneonabike commentedGeez I couldn't figure out why Aeigir's cron stopped working after the initial install! This saved me can we bump this into the default install? Seems kind of a critical issue no?

ergonlogicThe task queue is now run by the queue daemon, which is installed by the .deb. Upgrades from 1.x won't necessarily have it enabled by default. But fresh 2.x installs ought to. Turning on the cron-based task queue is detrimental int this case, since it'll mean multiple tasks running simultaneously, which we generally want to avoid for performance reasons.

francewhoaErgonlogic, thanks for your comment :)
We were able to reproduce that issue with a fresh Aegir 2.1 install and fresh Debian Wheezy 7. It does not work by default with 2.1. Could you clarify your last comment? Are you saying that issue was present in 2.1. But is now fixed in 2.2 or 2.3?
