It would be great to not have to create multiple mini panels for every sub-navigation.

This patch provides a new ctools context called "Menu Minipanels". Setup a minipanel with this as a required context. The patch also includes a ctools content type called "Menu Minipanels children menu items". Add this panel pane to your content.

Configure the menu link as you normally would, but choose the one mini panel for all of the menu links that you want to render children.

Here is another patch with a portion commented out. The initial patch has issues when used on a page that already has a page context. I cmmented out that section of code for now until I get more time to figure out what's going on.

This patch allows the parent link to work from any menu, not just the main menu.
