After creating a sub-theme according to the documentation online I couldn't get grunt running with or without bundler.
$ compass install aurora/grunt
No such framework: "aurora"
The 3.2 version of Aurora has a config.rb file that appears to be missing aurora as a requirement to make the command work. It works if you add the line back in.
# Require any additional compass plugins here.
require 'aurora'
require 'compass'
require 'singularitygs'
require 'breakpoint'
require 'toolkit'
Just add in the requirement and it works great. Once you're done installing grunt and/or bower it probably makes sense to remove it again.
Alternatively if is intentional to remove it from the sub-theme, then perhaps the documentation need to be updated http://snugug.github.io/Aurora/features/
compass install -r aurora aurora/grunt
