I found #1615372: RedHen and Drupal commerce?, but I didn't see a Donations Issue, so I thought I'd start the conversation. :)

I was looking at CRM Core Donation. Which I'd say is a fairly good implementation of Donations through Drupal Commerce. I also saw Commerce Donate which might be a good foundation for this.

I found out that CRM Core Donation does not support #2245171: Recurring Donation. I think it would be nice to implement a solution with this in mind (although I understand it might be feature that happens down the road). For that it might be worth exploring Commerce License and Commerce License Billing.

This functionality is available through RedHen Donation.

When paired with a payment gateway that supports recurring transactions (such as iATS), you can do recurring donations as well.
