Merge this function back to xmlsitemap module?

Is this even necessary? Is this module still useful given the code in XML Sitemap's #1481798: Add support for Entity Translation & Title modules?

• If the module is no longer useful, it should be marked deprecated on the project page.
• If it provides additional functionality not in the other ticket, the functionality should be added there, or
• there should be an explanation on this project page explaining what this module does that's different, and why it's not included in the base module.

You are right, this module will not be useful when the specific functionality will be added to the base project. So I am going to mark the project as deprecated when the patch on the original project is committed.
