I have been trying to upgrade commons from 3.8 to 3.9

The update appears to go fine but I cannot access any admin pages, only get white screen. The site still functions properly. I attempted several times with same result.

Trying update to 3.x-Dev to see if problem persists and the update goes perfect with no issues. I have many modules installed so hard to know why this is happening.

This is a production site so fixing the security with update is important and not sure about using the dev version.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for how to solve this issue.

You might check out this issue to see if it is the problem. I got the WSOD after upgrading to 3.9 and this was the fix for me:
