Attached is a patch to update it!

I couldn't find any uses of the 'date' field. I think think the only thing that's using the Date module in Panopoly is the date_popup_authored module which uses the date_popup module. I haven't had a chance to do any testing yet.

I'm using panopoly as a base distro and I've been using the updated date module without issue.

I took @caschbre's comment as an RTBC. :-) I also did a quick test of the date popup after update and everything looks good.
